Molly Rose was my grandma.
She was very fashionable and thrifty. A great believer in second hand and make-do-and-mend she made most of her clothes from scratch.
A few years ago we discovered a note-book in which she had written recipes and shopping lists, dress and clothing patterns, and packing lists for her extensive travels around the world in a 'motor caravan'.
It provides a fantastic snapshot of a highly fashionable yet thrifty lifestyle in the 1970s and is a reminder of a time when communication was through letters and our daily consumption was far less frivolous.
This seemed like a good thing to do with it!
